2nd Round: Picks 48-52

48. Baltimore Ravens: Timmy Jernigan, DT, Florida State. Jernigan is a disruptive 1-technique at defensive tackle. However, like Hageman, he must improve his motor, which runs hot and cold. Can be a dominant force, but takes too many plays off, party due to poor conditioning.

49. New York Jets: Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech. I’m not as big a fan of Amaro as most evaluators. He is very good against zone coverage, but isn’t going to scare anyone with his quickness or elusiveness. He does however fill a need for the Jets.

50. San Diego Chargers: Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech. One of the best pass rushers in this draft, Attaochu (pictured above) immediately upgrades San Diego’s defensive front. He is quick and has a relentless motor. Love the pick.

51. Chicago Bears: Ego Ferguson, DT, LSU. Ferguson fills a huge need area for the Bears, who were gutted against the run last year. However, the Bears likely could’ve waited and still got Ferguson or a similar talent.

52. Arizona Cardinals: Troy Niklas, TE, Notre Dame. Niklas is a bit raw, but has as much physical talent as any dual-threat tight end in this class. He doesn’t have any major weaknesses, but can improve in every area. He also fills a need area for the Cardinals.
