Football Memo

2nd Round: Picks 43-47

43. New York Giants: Weston Richburg, C, Colorado State. Richburg (pictured above) is a versatile center, who could also play guard. He brings toughness and youth to an aging offensive line that has certainly seen better days.

44. Buffalo Bills: Cyrus Kouandjio, T, Alabama. The Bills have really improved offensively, nabbing receiver Sammy Watkins in the first round, now adding a massive tackle in Kouandjio. He needs work improving his footwork, and if he doesn’t, could possibly be moved to guard. Worth the risk at this point.

45. Seattle Seahawks: Paul Richardson, WR, Colorado. Richardson is a blazing-fast, rail-thin receiver, who can really blow the top off of a defense. Seattle has the luxury of selecting a high-risk player like Richardson.

46. Pittsburgh Steelers: Stephon Tuitt, DE/DT, Notre Dame. Pittsburgh has done a great job getting younger and more athletic on defense. Tuitt is my 22nd-rated player and will bring some youth to an aging front. Will likely play as a 5-technique defensive end in Pittsburgh’s 3-4 scheme.

47. Washington Redskins: Trent Murphy, OLB, Stanford. It’s hard to bet against an overachiever like Murphy, but I think the Redskins have more-pressing needs, especially along the offensive line. Will fit in as a rush linebacker/defensive end for the ‘Skins.
