With the 2nd Pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, The Rams Select: Greg Robinson

Greg Robinson, OT, 6-5, 330, Auburn
Key stats: Ran 4.9 40 and 1.74 10-yard split at over 330 pounds; both among best for offensive tackles.
Strengths: Robinson is as physical as they come, and has good quickness for a man his size. He dominates anyone he is able to get his hands on, engulfing them, then moving them off the ball. He also does a very good job getting to the second level. He will dominate in the run game early in his career and will bring an attitude to the offensive line.
Weaknesses: Since the Tigers were predominately a power team, Robinson will need some time to refine his footwork in pass protection. He is certainly athletic enough to become a good pass blocker, but could struggle early on in his career. If teams had the luxury, Robinson is probably better suited to begin his career at right tackle, then move to left as he develops his footwork.
Conclusion: Some are comparing Robinson to Larry Allen. Enough said. If he comes even close to Allen, he will enjoy a Hall of Fame career. Robinson has everything you need in an offensive tackle. He will start from Day 1 and could progress into a perennial all-pro.

Why This Works: The Rams are in need of refurbishing their offensive line, Robinson is a great start to protect the left flank of Sam Bradford. The Rams should continue to focus on their offensive line needs throughout the early rounds. Robinson is a great start.
