Tennessee Titans
Analysis:
The Titans grabbed their left tackle of the future in Taylor Lewan at No. 11 overall. In the second round, the Titans added Bishop Sankey, a dynamic back that early in his career can become a situational back, with good all-around skills. Getting Penn State’s Daquan Jones in the fourth round should help provide some depth and toughness to the interior of Tennessee’s defensive line. Marqueston Huff brings versatility to the defensive backfield. Huff can help as either a cornerback or safety. I thought the Titans needed to upgrade the quarterback and offensive tackle positions heading into the draft. While I figured they would select a quarterback earlier than the sixth round, the Titans did land a possible future starter in LSU’s Zach Mettenberger, who dropped due to injury and some concerns regarding a diluted sample at the NFL combine. Mettenberger has tremendous natural passing ability, and if he matures, could give the Titans the franchise quarterback desperately lacked.
