2nd Round: Picks 33-37

33. Houston Texans: Xavier Su’a-Filo, G, UCLA. The Texans are going about his draft the right way. Build the lines first. They added Clowney at No. 1 to solidify the defense. Now, with Su’a-Filo, they have added a solid all-around guard.

34. Dallas Cowboys: Demarcus Lawrence, DE/OLB, Boise State. I’m not as high on Lawrence as most evaluators. I think he will be good, but he doesn’t possess the quickness off the ball that I like in pass rushers. However, he is very good against the run for his size.

joelbitonio

35. Cleveland Browns: Joel Bitonio, OT, Nevada. Bitonio brings toughness to the offensive line to help combat the defenses of the AFC North. He’s also versatile enough to shift over to guard or center if needed. You can never go wrong with a versatile offensive lineman.

36. Oakland Raiders: Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State. Carr has all the physical tools to be the best quarterback in this draft. What he needs to improve is his toughness while under duress. At this stage of the draft, the Raiders fill a need, and take a shot at greatness.

Ra'Shede Hageman

Ra’Shede Hageman

37. Atlanta Falcons: Ra’Shede Hageman, DT/DE, Minnesota. I had Hageman ranked No. 20 overall, so I love the pick. This guy has rare ability. He just needs to grow up a bit and become a more consistent performer. The Falcons have certainly added toughness with their first two picks.
