2 Possible Top 15 RBs Find a New Home

As word is slowly coming in about the signing of Moreno and Jones-Drew, let’s look at the immediate impact it will have on fantasy football.
The Oakland Raiders have been struggling for a few seasons now. The addition of Jones-Drew just might give them the game breaker they thought they were getting when they drafted Darren McFadden. The competition should be crazy good in Oakland at the running back spot. My hope is that Oakland finds a way to keep both running backs healthy and on the field at the same time. With the lack of a solid receiving threat, MJD and McFadden could have fantasy value off top 10 in PPR.
Miami on the other hand was on their way last year, but the decimation of their offensive line mid-season derailed any hopes of the playoffs. With the rebuilding process starting in Miami, Moreno should be wined up to be an exceptional fantasy pick this year again. Moreno brings to fold to the Dolphins: he is a great pass blocker, which was a major issue last season for the Dolphins and he can get you 5 to 6 yards to keep the ball out of opposing offenses’ hands. Philbin should also be happy that he now has a multi-dementional running back on his roster and can give Clay full run at the starting tight end position. Out of the two moves, the Dolphins definitely got a lot better by bringing in Moreno.
I think Moreno can now be drafted in rounds 5 through 8 depending upon the value you put on him and if you are doing standard scoring or PPR.
Jones-Drew on the other hand is a little tougher to figure out. He’s coming off 2 injury plagued seasons back to back. There are a lot of questions as to whether or not he still has it in the tank. At this point he can still run, catch and block well enough to be a 3 down back in the NFL. When it’s all said and done he might have a better season than Moreno, but that is far from a certainty. His draft ability is now between rounds  6 and 11; obviously on the higher side if you’re in a PPR league and lower in standard scoring. If you can get him in rounds 7-11, you just scored a major bonus.
